Puppy Training
Every Wednesday at 3.30pm at the practice in Tide street. All dogs are welcome. Training a puppy when you first bring them home is extremely important as all family members need to decide and agree on a routine and who will be responsible for the new "member" of the family. Enthusiasm and emotions are up and because everyone wants to feed the puppy, play with the puppy and hold the puppy, pre-established rules are easily broken. As your new puppy has just been taken away from her mom she is vulnerable and impressionable and what she needs now is security and routine. This is where Puppy training comes in. Obedience training doesn't solve all behavior problems, but it does open up a line of communication between you and your dog. This is necessary to instruct your dog about what you want them to do. Dogs are social animals and without proper training they will behave in a manner that will not be suitable to your needs. You will be taught to teach the dog to redirect his natural behavior in a way that is acceptable in a domestic setting. Obedience training is rewarding for both you and your dog and it will enrich your relationship and make living together most enjoyable. A well-trained dog is more confident than an untrained dog, and this will allow you the owner greater freedom to enjoy your pet in an environment away from the confines of home. Whatever the age of your dog, the right time to begin training is RIGHT NOW! |
